Technical Fundamentals of Modern Perfume

Service Description

Study in our training centre, the 1000 Flowers Academy,  right on the main square of the historic city of Grasse in the south of France. We will cover various technical areas of perfumery expertise, and some experience is required. Topics we will study: -Overview of raw materials: including naturals, synthetics, olfactive families according to Jean Carles Method. -Setting up your lab, choosing your materials, choosing percentage in dilutions and preparing your working palette.  -Overview of green chemistry/white biotechnology produced molecules (sustainable perfumery) -Overview of the classic fragrance families (and subfamilies) and their accords  Hesperide/citrus, floral, chypre, fougère, woody, amber/'oriental'. -Writing your formula, programming Excel to calculate safety standards and other regulations. -Understanding IFRA and EU safety Standards. -Choosing your project, developing the fragrance, evaluation as a group and one-on-one with the instructor.  Details:   Lunch provided (please provide dietary requirements in advance, but in general, all will be vegetarian). Price per student for includes 5 days of study: 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch:  1100€.   Maximum 6 students.  *One field trip will be organised and during the week to either visit the International Perfumery Gardens, or a local flower producer. We will also visit the International Perfumery Museum for a guided tour.
